Compressed air always contains water, a c  arryover form the compressed air system. Water vapor mixed in the compressed air will have negative effect on your pipeline, your pneumatic tools and other equipment. Your air tools will possess less power, emerge more failures and, ultimately, a shorter lifetime. Materials and products that come into contact with untreated air run the risk of contamination or damage. Compressed air pipe work will corrode, leading to leaks. To prevent such loss, refrigerated air drier is usually deployed as a standard configuration of an air system. It’s a common solution for removing moisture content. There are two types of refrigerated dryers.

The first type is cycling. It is a more efficient option and typically used for higher flows and where the flow rate varies.  The other is a non-cycling type. It’s a less expensive option. Non-cycling dryers run at the same load ever since they are turned on. Both types of dryers have a coalescing pre-filter to remove large quantities of water droplets and oil mist before going into the air dyer. This will be more efficient to remove moisture in the compressed air.

Refrigerated air dryer

Refrigerated air dryer operates with a similar principle to domestic refrigerators or home air conditioning systems. It dries compressed air by removing moisture from the air through use of a heat exchanger. The compressed air is cooled in an air-to-refrigerant heat exchanger to about 35°F, a temperature where the moisture condenses into water. This water is then collected and drained out of the system, only dry air is left.
